Really Free: Nellie Mae Rowe Exhibition Poster & Billboard Design

As part of my internship with Lehigh University Art Galleries, I designed promotional materials for the Really Free: The Radical Art of Nellie Mae Rowe exhibition. Inspired by Rowe’s vibrant, handmade aesthetic, I hand-cut textile letters to create a tactile, print-forward poster that reflected the spirit of her work. To extend the reach of the exhibition and drive foot traffic, I also designed a large-scale billboard that emphasized bold color and accessible language to capture attention beyond the gallery walls. The project balanced analog craft with public-facing design strategy, bringing visibility to an underrepresented artist through intentional visual storytelling.
