Faith-based housing storybook
Problem
Underutilized church properties sit at the center of a sensitive conversation around affordable housing in the Lehigh Valley. The Small Cities Lab needed a way to engage a wide range of stakeholders—community members, faith leaders, and developers—around a complex, early-stage initiative.
Approach
In a two-week sprint, we designed a 4×4-inch bolted storybook that leaned on isotype principles, using clean symbols, restrained typography, and stark data points to visually communicate the scale of the issue and the opportunity for impact. The compact, tactile format invites interaction while maintaining accessibility.
The final print
100 copies were distributed at a community meeting to propose the idea and gauge interest.
